home I chose my advertising essay. To be an essayist, you need to observe and think about the world while having opinions about what you observed. Sticking to the main idea will help, and you should have at least five paragraphs. Remember that each paragraph must have a thesis statement, each paragraph needs a topic sentence, a conclusion, and most important, to stick to the main idea. But if you really want to shoot the moon, then include three reasons or proof to support the thesis sentence.
I don’t think I wrote very well on this piece, I think I wrote majestically, amazingly, extraordinary because I edited and didn’t repeat any statements or words. My concluding paragraph would restate the thesis without being repetitive. Using the successful paragraph method really boosted my variety of words and all of my reasons or proof paragraphs had a topic sentence. However, the one thing that I might improve on is changing my statements. For instance, I said that having a contagious jingle or slogan will bring in the bucks and fasten in the mind. Changing fasten in the mind to something like it will stick in the brain will sound much better while having better sense.
While writing this piece I learned a lot; especially tricks about advertising. But really, I mostly learned how to be a good essayist. Hopefully you learned how to be a better essayist too.
Don’t fall for any of the advertising tricks!!

|| Don’tFallForIt! Watch out all couch potatoes! Same with you computer people! Advertisers will knock you off your feet with all the persuasive techniques they use to sell you products. In addition, they will knock your socks off with all the tricks up their sleeves. To be tricked into buying products can be irritating because they creep into your everyday life. Knowing that their purpose is to separate us from our money, is foolish! Round up your family and get ready to recognize their tricks. When you have a favorite celebrity endorse a product they’re expecting their number one fan to buy their product. Feeling guilty about not consuming their creation is the least of your problem; they just want your money. To use a famous person to try to make you buy or support someone or something is called testimonial commercial. Around the world, all producers use this technique. For example, ProActiv uses Justin Bieber and Katy Perry. However, Covergirl has Drew Barrymore model their products. Finally, Tiger Woods represents Nike. News flash, celebrities do not make products any better than they really are. Have you ever watched a commercial and later realized that their jingle got trapped in your head? This is usually caused when advertisers use slogans and jingles to try and hook you. Having a contagious slogan or jingle will bring in the bucks and fasten in the mind. Aside from it being catchy, advertisers purposely repeat it over and over again. For example, have you ever heard of Red Robin’s slogan (Red Robin…… yum!) or State Farm’s slogan (like a good neighbor, State Farm is there!)? It is catchy right; well in the commercial they use repetition over and over again. Do not catch the jingle or slogan bug! Imagine yourself in the middle of your favorite movie, and all of a sudden you realize that there is a coke billboard standing tall on the street. That billboard is there for one reason and purpose, to sell. Having that ad in the middle of the movie creates a product placement. For example, Comcast uses product placement in Paid Programming. To hide products in movies or television for money is product placement. Besides movies or television, it’s also found in video games. Now, when ever you are watching your television or playing a video game you will be aware of product placement. Since we can’t avoid ads and commercials, we must be cautious about the products that we buy. Becoming a smart consumer by knowing the persuasive techniques will save you money. To do your research before you buy a product is useful and helpful. Instead of constantly putting our hands in our pockets, we should think before we buy! Hopefully, we will not be deceived anymore by the advertisers now that we know their tricks.
